District winners from the Pennsylvania Elks State Association eight districts gathered for the State Soccer Shoot recently at the amazing Nittany Valley Sports Centre near the Toftrees area.
The Northwest District participants were all from our Titusville Lodge #264. Participants, their families, and Elks were treated to a Pizza Party at the Bellefonte Elks Lodge #1094 as well as an overnight stay with breakfast at The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. Trophies were awarded by State President Carl Smith from Beaver Falls Elks Lodge #348 and State Soccer Shoot Chair Jim Hunt from Bridgeport Elks Lodge #714.
Pictured in the first group picture were Lance Bryant, Layla Bryant, Luke Bryant, and Adrianna Johnson. It was noted that it may be the first time in State Soccer Shoot history to have three siblings participate!
Pictured secondly was Owen Vincent, who earned Second Place in his division. Owen tied for first in the opening round and came up a point short in the exciting first round shootout. It was noted that Owen’s grandfather, Skee Fulton, was a Life Member of the Titusville Lodge and had passed away earlier this year, but would have been so proud of Owen and our other shooters.
Our participants were accompanied by District Deputy Grand Exalted Ruler Judy Mathews, Past District Deputy and Lodge Secretary Tim McCandless, Lodge Exalted Ruler Linda Johnson, and Lodge Esteemed Loyal Knight and Lodge Soccer Shoot Chair Chris Fiely.
